We would like to invite you to the Scientific Spring Meeting of the Dutch Society of Medical Microbiology (NVMM) and the Royal Dutch Society of Microbiology (KNVM) to be held VIRTUALLY on March 30 and 31, 2021.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, substantial uncertainties, unfortunately, remain with respect to the safety and feasibility of many activities and events for several months ahead, both in The Netherlands and worldwide. We have therefore taken the difficult decision to cancel our physical 2021 meeting and at the same time, we have decided to put our best energy/effort in organizing a virtual meeting. 

Although face-to-face interactions are an important aspect of any congress, the current pandemic severely limits the possibilities. Hosting a virtual congress brings challenges and at the same time opens new possibilities. You can expect an interactive program with renowned national and international speakers. Throughout the program you will find sessions addressing the area of microbiology from basic research to clinical applications, several of which are open for submitted abstracts. In response to the needs of the moment, the scientific program will include a dedicated COVID-19 track.
