Course Objectives 
The main objective of the course will be in putting attention on a group within the microbial world of lesser recognition in the context of human health and wellbeing. Specifically, putting the Rare Yeasts Infections in focus, might open new venues for diagnostic and therapeutic means, which thus far are not available. The course will include state-of-theart presentations in the field, from taxonomy and epidemiology to pathogenicity and guidelines for infection management. A practical session will be dedicated to morphologic and molecular tools for rare yeasts identification.
